Mainly find too much sodium in processed foods, as in preparing perishable foods salt is used for two reasons, one is to enhance flavor and preserve food. But the food industry also adds other substances to their products that contain sodium, such as additives, either for conservatives, stabilizers, emulsifiers, thickeners and gelling agents, or as flavor enhancers or sweeteners.
Foods high in sodium:
◦ salt
◦ preserves and canned food
◦ processed foods in general
◦ processed meat
◦ sausage
◦ pates
◦ smoked
◦ junk food
◦ dried pasta and rice mixes
◦ processed and precooked soups
◦ sauces and salad dressings
◦ sports or energy drinks
◦ bread
savory snacks
◦ mature cheese
◦ seasonings
◦ refreshments
◦ margarine and butter
Are you surprised? In many of these foods do not feel the salty taste. However, the salt is hidden there. That is why we must achieve a balance in these foods or, preferably, avoid to avoid an overdose of salt.

A new iPhone application fits the mood
TORONTO (Reuters) - Need a strong tracklist for your daily workout or perhaps one that better attention at work during the day? A new iPhone application suits your current situation and mood.
Songza, an internet radio service launched since 2007, launched its iPhone application earlier this month following his success with the iPhone and web applications.
Its aim is to help people find the perfect playlist for what they are doing at all times, whether it comes to relaxing after a hectic week or if you're reading the newspaper or at a party.
"We are trying to make the world's largest collection of amazing play lists and listening experiences," said Elias Roman, co-founder of Songza, an internet radio company based in Long Island, New York.
The main function of the application is their "concierge service" that suggests situations or activities that a user might be doing in terms of day of week, time of day, the device you use and behavior, which learns the application with time.
For example, if Saturday morning, Songza music might suggest to prepare breakfast or songs that help the user to go back to sleep. If it's a weeknight, the application could pose music for work or for travel from home to work.
"We changed situations, filters and playlists based on things that we get to know about you," said co-founder Peter Asbill.
When selecting a situation, the application provides three different playlists for each genre, decade and humor, and for each filter, created by a team of critics, journalists, DJs, musicians and ethnomusicologists.
The application, which seeks to satisfy many different types of users, includes more than 100,000 playlists, covering 18 million songs.
Despite competition in live music services like Pandora, Spotify and iheartradio, Roman said that Songza has seen its user base by 50 percent per month since they introduced the concierge feature to the iPhone and web applications in March.
Asbill attributes the success of its approach to design first mobile device. In the five days following its launch in June, the application for the iPhone had over 700,000 downloads.
Last week, analyst Richard Greenfield of BTIG Research, providers of funds and institutional brokerage, warned investors that the company Pandora Media should be careful with the rapid growth of Songza.
Songza The application is free and available to all IOS devices, but only to the U.S. website.
Also available for Android devices but does not yet include the concierge service of music.
